This is the picture that caught my attention. MY god. I had to find out what it was. Katrin Olina is the artist behind this. She creates these graphic designs and covers them wall to wall to ceiling to floor. The result can be a little overwhelming, but what impact.

Cristal Bar, Hong Kong

Cristal Bar, Hong Kong - An interior based around graphic art and the application of a visual language in an entire space. In this project, of an interior of a Bar, Katrin Olina exploits the film and printing technology of 3M to create a huge seamless painting that expands throughout the bar’s four interconnected areas that cover a floor area of 1200 square feet.

Cristal Bar, Hong Kong - The bar countertop is encrusted with more than 300,000 Swarovski crystals, which are illuminated from above by a ripple projector, and below by multicolored LEDs, in that way the counter’s surface changes hues while shimmering in undulating waves over the course of the night. (whew!)

Skin, Aesthetic Cosmetic Surgery, Florence 2007. An interior project collaboration between Michael Young and Katrin Olina. The interior, is a conversion of an old building in the historic Borgo San Jacopo district in central Florence, between the Ponte Vecchio and Santa Trinita bridges.
