When I got briefed to make a box for Zaheer, my ex-boss, I was sure it had to be very different from the kind of work I normally do. Because Zaheer is hugely talented and is aesthetically very unlike me. So it was all the more challenging. And I was happy when I finished this design. This was so Zaheer.

He has a formidable collection of pens & wanted a nice box to keep it in.

I liked that I took the design onto the sides as well.

I've surfaced after long, but this was one post I HAD to make. I got a mail this morning from one one my earliest and most regular readers, Anrosh, who writes the most interesting 'Indian Yarn'. In the mail was a link & once it opened- wow. This was so cool. No more gushing just see how this man transformed his basement.

Kratzer might be a lawyer by day, but in his off hours he is a man who has taken the artistic influences and heroes of his life and imagined them onto his walls, that he might keep company with them while he uses the pool table.

"Kratzer's basement suggests that the great cultural influences wandered out of college humanities class — here a Churchill for eloquence during harsh times, a Joan Crawford for cinematic vampiness, Holmes and Poirot for great literary characterization — and set up shop together in the carefully hand-drawn markings of an educated imagination come to life.

I'm so sick of not having time to blog - that here is my bloody minded 'I will blog, I don't care of I don't have time' post. That felt good :) Here is introducing to you my good friend Runjhun Jain's whole new aspect of talent. Along with making the most amazing illustrations & drawings which I blogged about earlier, Runjhun's sense of style is something I've been a fan of for the longest time. This a shoot she styled and art directed for the brand BE: and its been shot by Shekhar (Supari) Phalke one of the most talented young photographers in the country today. After much persuasion, Runjhun has been convinced to share these images and her talent - I have never met a more self effacing creative person. Every image you see here is a studio shot - which means it has been created from scratch in an empty studio - as against finding a pretty space, propping it up & shooting it there. It makes me look at it with that much more respect.

Things I was busy doing when I disappeared from here: 1.Work, many of my projects are moving onward & forward & well - so YE!!! 2. My Sister and nephew and little cousin had come visiting, so there was loads of shopping, shopping, mall hopping - all in this crazy heat, so phew! I am even normally in complete awe of parents & these past 15 days only compounds my overwhelming respect for them. 4. Got 4 days of peace and respite, away from my computer and mobile networks, back to the lap of nature. Quietness and calm.
