I seem to be just about the last one to discover Kishani Perera, the toast of the interior design world. But better late than never- so here's a generous dose of Kishani colour! I love her inherent sense of drama & how she balances it, so that the result is never overwhelming.

Check that gold headrest and the suspended lamps- pure glamour
And its not like she doesn't do soft colours
For all my professed love for colour- this one is probably my favourite room- that pineapple centre piece just does it for me

Very bold interior. Lovely to see. I spy some beautiful Ethiopian crosses there.
she is totally talented and that four poster bed in bamboo is a heart stopper!
you have an eye, vineetha!
Wonderful work...I love how she uses so much color with it feeling overwhelming.
loved every hue and color in this... absolutely intriguing post...
not related to the post vineeta, but i was wondering where does one source devangiri letters in bombay - if even there was such a place?
i left out the most impt point - devangiri script in wood - 1 feet or so.
thanks (an)
Sudha, I found her work to be overall daring and fun :)
Shuma- Glad to see you here :) and yes I think so too! :)
Julie, The pleasure is all mine :)
Robyn, Oh- so they are Ethiopian crosses! did I see some in your study as well? What I wouldnt do to lay my hands on them :) I think I should come to Africa- what say? :)
Shilpa, that 4 poster bed is my absolute fav too!!! I just loved the simplicity of that picture. More than me having an eye- her work is just too phenomenal. But thanx for the compliment nevertheless :)
Shalini, I so agree :)
Gauri, thanx much!
Anrosh, good question, I went hunting too a few months back. the answer is that they dont come ready made at all. But deep in the alleys and bylanes of Pydhoni and Lohar Chawl in Bombay you will find large readymade metal finished alphabets (cheap & shiny looking).
thanks V.
Kishani is absolutely one of my favorite designers! Her use of color and blending of vintage pieces in is absolutely wonderful.
OMG! In that bedroom with the gold headrest, I have one of the hanging lamps sitting in my garage!
