Tribal Route
Sunday, August 05, 2007The first thing you will notice about TRIBAL ROUTE is colour. And space. Outside is a sign that asks you to remove your footware & feel the texture of ‘chattai’ beneath your feet. This courtyard also plays host to art exhibitions & creative workshops. Interesting.

The second cottage had the cushions & the furniture. Along with this bright & dressy stuff there were also a lot jutes and off whites.

Spread over 2 cottages Tribal Route is crammed with artifacts, lamps, jewellery, knick knacks, vases , studio pottery, coasters, mirrors (huge sexy ones), cushions, furniture, drapes… whew! It’s a happy medley of styles, things and price ranges. Nihar Mehta whose store it is told me to come when I had some time. Im glad I took his advice, it took me all of 3 hours to just see all the stuff that they had.
A place that displays its ware like this obviously has its heart in the right place. I have to mention they had some deadly belts. Look carefully at the above pic (top right) I told u they were awesome :)
Super colourful bags.
Their jewellery collection was to die for. I have only featured the silver and more formal ones here. They also had really funky tribal kind of stuff.
Studio pottery, vases & frogs.
Some really pretty lamps & table decor made of natural fibre. Now you know where to head before that moroccan theme party.
