Fever 104- Calender 2009

I couldn't see this & not show it :) It is the Radio Music Channel Fever 104's 2009 "What's your Ear type?" calender. Caution, the humour is severely local. Enjoy! :)

"Ears the Reason"
The "Long lost Ear":
"It yearns and it pines, for the long forgotten songs of yore.
And requests from Jhumri Talaiyaa
"Pinky, Bablu, Munnu, Rani, Chintu et al ki pasand"
Disgusted at the thought of 'Remix'
Binaca Geet Mala is somethng it will always dig."
The 'Romeo-Laila Ear":
In ancient times, it was called the Romeo-Juliet ear,
It answers to a variety of names
in different parts of the world.
Some call it the 'Heer-Ranjha' ear,
others call it the 'Bill-Monica' ear.
The broad-minded may even call it the 'Dostana' ear.
'Do dil.... mil rahein hain'
and this ear starts beating.
"The Dingchak Ear:
It is seen in flashy cars but heard much before it is seen.
It believes that music should thump
from your head right down to your toes.
Aunty-Uncle may call it a nuisance.
But its just trying to spread the message 'Music is for everyone"
The 'Yo Ear":
It wants the world to know- YO
That music is in his blood- YO
might not get a word- YO
still pretends to be YO-YO
Juggy D, JayZ, Snooo Dogg- YO
Will the real Slim Shady stand up -YO

The "Repeat Ear":
It listens to 200 songs a day. The same song,
Played over & over again.
It listens to 200 songs a day. The same song,
Played over & over again.
It listens to 200 songs a day. The same song,
Played over & over again.
It listens to 200 songs a day. The same song,
Played over & over again.
The Bappi Da Ear:
'Aya ma disco dancer'
it sizzles at the sound of night -laabhers'
Completely disco, completely Da,
so what if the 'gaan' is fully copied,
It doesn't like 'rona', only fond of black and 'sona'
Loves to hear someone say,
'Pyar beena chain kahan re'

The 'Rock-around- the clock' Ear:
It can never have enough,Its plugged in 24x7. In the metro,
in the elevator, during a coffee break, it grooves all the time.
Even when nature calls & its time to pee. It was born with the earphones on.
"Hello! Hello!Hello is undoubtledly its fav song.

Designboom

There is this cat and mouse game that Time and I like to play. Today I've won & therefore get to post. Bonus :) My friend Gunjan Pai sent this link to me & just check it out! Its got all manner of design craziness. I haven't even explored all of it. It goes by the name of Designboom & just see what I found here. Wall paper world. Fun & super interesting. This is what Designboom says about the coming pictures. " while most wall coverings still come in the traditional long sheet form, there are many examples that are unlike anything you have seen before. From walls covered in post-it notes or plants to interactive walls and glow in the dark designs, wallpaper has transformed into something completely different. This article will look at some of the most creative and unusual wall coverings and wallpaper designs."

in the mind of children, walls look like giant blank canvases just waiting for their crayons. parents tired of fighting this fact will no doubt want to try the ‘tick-tock’ wallpaper pattern by mini moderns. the clock themed wallpaper pattern is very spare in white with black outlines but adding colour is as simple as staying in the lines. http://www.minimoderns.com

most wallpaper designs disregard the particular architectural features of the room. surrealien does the exact opposite by customizing wallpaper patterns to a room. they do this by warping the pattern around light switches, doors and windows, or anything else on the wall. the effect is put together with made to measure wallpaper that gives a room a surreal appearance.

while this wallpaper appears to be something found in your aunt’s house, upon closer inspection you will find a different type of ant. looking closely at the wallpaper’s pattern you will see hundreds of tiny ants crawling on the wall. the wallpaper is created by designers stine gam and enrico fratesi. http://www.gamplusfratesi.com
while this isn’t technically a wallpaper, it is an interesting way to decorate walls with just a few markers. charlie kratzer wanted to decorate his blank white walls but wanted something more creative than simple paint or traditional wallpaper. using black markers, kratzer drew architectural features, books, pictures and a small cast of characters on the walls.

this wallpaper design by duncan wilson and sirkka hammer uses tiny post-its to cover the wall. each post-it has four layers to it, each one gets successively darker in colour to create a pixelated pattern as the notes are used. using this wallpaper is ideal for an office setting and is a visual representation of the pattern of use. http://www.duncan-wilson.com

5.5 designers aimed to create a line of wallpaper ‘without confronting a decorative vision’. their solution was a series of simple designs which used games to create a pattern. a labyrinth puzzle, word search and tic-tac-toe serve as a background, being filled in or used to customize the wallpaper. they turn the walls into a place for playing, for one person or many. the wallpaper design will change over time, making no two installations the same.

I loved this last one. Such a happy making time-waster it would be. One must put in places where people are forced to wait against their will. It will save people from getting murdered or at the least it will avoid the generation of all kinds of negative vibes. Be productive. Play a game.

Rob & Lauren's Wedding Photography

Meet Rob & Lauren, who I don't believe I haven't seen until now. But thanx to Fernanda's Tudo de Om, I made this mind blowing discovery. Rob & Lauren are The Wedding Travellers, wedding photographers apart from being the most fun talented twosome I've seen on the net.

I love their little elephant logo & how they make everything look beautiful.

These are some of their non- wedding pictures.

Do check out their Hindu wedding pictures here. Nothing short of brilliant. And when you read their websites you know these guys are so cool & happy, that you just want to meet them asap.

Fernanda's Tudo de Om

I was so excited to see Fernanda's blog. Her blogger profile says she is from Sao Paulo, Brazil, but there is more India in her blog tudo de Om (which loosely translates to All of Om) than you will even see here. Just wanted to share some of the bright India imagery from her blog.

What interesting is that her love for India is not skin deep, I found interesting information about the Bhagavad Gita & Yoga. She writes in Portugese, but there is a Google translator you can use on the side bar to read it in the language you like.
You will read about Indian Tea...
See Indian Gods...
Indian colours in furniture...

... in cutlery

...and fabric
If you like things Indian Fernanda's Tudo de Om should be a sure shot destination for you.

Sanjay Nanda

Sanjay Nanda's work is bold, textural and graphic. Just the way i love it. Each of his frames is an eyeball grabber and the slashes of colour are microcosms of the urban landscape. Unconventionally beautiful & completely arresting.

His latest body of work the 'Yantra Mantra' will be exhibited in the capital on Jan 17th and if you are lucky enough to be staying in Delhi do check out his work.
